UBOM Main Branch

Our History

Who we are

Established in 1934 by a group of local businessmen to meet the banking and credit needs of the community, Union Bank now serves all of Polk County and surrounding areas with full service locations in Mena, Hatfield and Wickes.

Union Bank's footprint expanded when its sister bank officially joined the brand in 2024. Six additional branches located through the River Valley now serve customers with the same "hometown" touch Union has been built on. Paris, Caulksville, Waldron, Booneville, Ozark and Clarksville branches are now officially part of the Union family.

Established the same year as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Union Bank is a state chartered bank and regulated by the Arkansas State Banking Department, Federal Reserve Bank St. Louis and insured by the FDIC.

From humble beginnings in Mena, Union Bank has grown into a regional banking center that has served generations of loyal customers. Loyal customers who have helped build the legacy of the bank that’s served the community for 90 years. With the support of the communities we serve, the bank has grown to a team of approximately 60 people.

Supporting local businesses and many industries in the area such as manufacturing, tourism, agri, and timber with lending and support, the bank is also proud of its customer focused technology to ensure that business and individual customers have access to the best banking features available. Access to financial services for small business has always been a focus of the bank.

Throughout the history of the bank, we have always been a proud supporter of community activities and we continue to invest our time in our schools, businesses, neighborhoods and civic organizations.  If there is a community activity going on, rest assured, one of our valued hometown team members is there showing support or working behind the scenes. You'll see us feeding area athletic teams before games, volunteering in concession stands, buying animals at the County Junior Livestock Auction, or enjoying the fun at the annual Lum 'n Abner or Jubilee in June Festivals... and that's just to name a few!

As we plan to serve our customers and communities over the next 89 years, we invite you to enjoy...

Hometown Banking At Its Best.
